quick question

First time out of the vault
so ive edited the recruits i wanted to edit, mainly farsight and stitch (hf03 and hm09 entities). everything works fine, but for some reason farsight becomes my main character when i start a new game.

if anyone could shed some light on this for me, that would be fantastic.
 
no, at least i dont believe so.
i was only using the entity editor to edit the two recruits you start off with.

but i did add a footlocker to the first mission with weapons/ammo in it.

thats all ive done so far.
 
Try deleting the single player spawn point and then save, reload add it back in (player index 1) and save again. If that doesn't work make farsight less good or remove her from the map and reactivate her in the recruit pool.

This is a common problem for making standalone missions, but I've never heard of it happening in a campaign before.
 
hey, thanks for the info. i do appericiate it, though which folder would i find the player index 1?

thats something ive been looking for long before i started posting here. <---n00b move
 
Player index 1 is the index number you enter when adding an actor or spawn point to a map so that your characters spawn under the player's control. Just enter 1 in the 'Player' box on the entity page in the level editor.



The single player spawn and other spawn points (if that's what you mean) are in entities/misc. They won't show up in the editor unless you've unpacked the entities_0.bos with winzip or winrar.
 
yeah, i had everything unpacked, but a couple things; how would i go about reactivating farsight in the recurit pool?
and why is farsight always the one who is the player char?

honestly, i wouldnt have even realized farsight was the player char if i hadnt gone into bosche to edit my carry weight. it always her name that comes up.

almost forgot; which player spawn should i use? spawnplayer or singleplayerspawn?

Urm bosche :roll: , is Farsight the first character in the bar at the bottom of the screen in game (furthest left)? If she gets killed does the game automatically end?

If not then she's not the main character no matter what bosche says.
 
na, my character is on the far left.

honestly i cant stand the program, hardly ever works for me and all i wanna do is raise my characters carry limit.
with that said, is there a way to tweak the carry limit through the FT Tools?
 
Easiest way, create a consumable in the entity editor, or edit an existing one like say the stimpak. Set the random effects min max to 0, and under effect[0] tick enabled. Then under primary effect/attributes untick the is temporary effect box, and under primary effect/derived enter the amount you want to increase the maxcarryweight by.

Save it as a new entity and add it to a map you haven't visited yet.
 
since ive already got the thread started, ive searched every folder, but i cant find the bos.cam file.
know of any way, other than reinstalling the game, that i could get the file replaced?

see, for some reason when i altered the game earlier, i cant find random incounters, so im just gonna say eff it and throw the pipboy and riddick into the recruit pool.
i was following jj86's guide, but i hit the bos.cam part then fail happens.
 
(Re)Extract it from Mis_Main-0.bos, you must have the bos.cam either in the bos file or in core/campaign otherwise you wouldn't be able to start the campaign.
 
still not gettin it to work, but that aside for now, how would i go about editing the osceola map? the campaign missions folder only has about half of the maps and of course osceola isnt one of em...
 
They all have to be extracted from the .bos files to the core folder keeping the directory structure intact. Easiest way is to use the Booster application and reapply the patch afterwards.

one last thing though; ive checked throughout most of this forum and i am sorry if this has already been covered, but in the campaign editor under the "special" tab (if you will) there is a list of all the special encounters and what squares in which you could activate them.
now, is there any way to identify which is which?

basically what im asking is how i could find the S.E. with riddick.

edit: oh btw, i found this armor, the diablo armor, it requires 75+ strength to wear it... how the FUC* are you supposed to use it?
or is it one of those unique things that are just for show...
