I wouldn't call myself a SW fan. I own a few SW comics and I've seen all the movies, but I like to think more of myself as a general sci-fi fan. I prefer Star Trek above Star Wars though (if you can even compare them).

I can't allow you to write Tie Fighter that bad...

*MatuX turn on his lightsaber*
(in Darth Vader voice...)
- Now, feel the force of the dark side! Aaargg..!

*MatuX awakes*
Oh shh, what happened?!

Ah oh, yeah, Tie Fighter! I own all the simulators from the Star Wars series. I Once bought a diskette (at $1) that had a mission editor for X-Wing... My god!! I was so excited!!! I came to my house, turn on the computer loaded it, oohh god!! it was so easy to handle, I spent like 3 hours making the perfect mission!! It had everything... And when I clicked on "SAVE" a nice messaged popped up:
"It is a shareware version, you can't save any mission until you register the program"... I would never forget how I feel that once... Sniff, oh shit, that brings memories... crap....%^&*#@%^&@#%^&@#%%*

I would never compare them... sTAR tREK sucks bad to be compared with a piece of art like Star Wars it's. :P

Have you been paying attention during episode 1? Even the worst Star Trek episode wasn't that bad.

[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON May-17-00 AT 10:59PM (GMT)[p]Well, yes... Episode 1 is not very good, well, it's bad... Well, I think Phantom Menace is full of crap where George Lucas said a day "Oh no! My wallet is empty! Let's make a Star Wars movie!" (just like Kiss and his world circus cd... and actually, it's a circus) and all the games that went before the release of the movie sucks a lot.

But I found the Star Wars world a lot more interesting than Star Trek one, but I'm not gonna lie to you, if I catch a Star Trek chapter or movie, I saw it and enjoy it because I like these kind of things ;-).

I think that the main difference between Star Trek and Star Wars is that SW is a *novel*, ST is just a *tale*. You can set ST universe in a bunch of series, but it would be impossible to set SW one's like that. SW is a lot more than that, SW world is much more complex, I think.

And, finally, please... You can't say: "Star Trek is better because Episode 1 sucks", I think that it's sutpid!

Hey, I NEVER said Star Wars sucked. I just said episode 1 did. And eventhough it wasn't that good I still enjoyed it. It was good film to waste two hours on and it had some great eyecandy. As for the Star Wars universe being complexer, I couldn't disagree with you more. Do you know how much effort and research goes into a star trek episode or movie to make it so that every scientific happening is explained as reasonably as possible?
If I had to compare the two worlds I wouldn't use the analogy novel/tale either. Star Wars is more an epic sci-fi/fantasy story, while star trek offers a much larger world that's more based on reality. Now that doesn't mean one is better than the other. The universe you happen to like more is a matter of taste.

That's why I edited the messages 5 seconds later from posting it. Sorry :)

I can't disagree with you, neither. Something that I see in Star Wars that doesn't have Star Trek is the emotional compound. Star Trek can be very technical sometimes, being realistic, more "cold" (in some way), and such, but Star Wars has the force, the father/son conflicts, evil and good, peace and war utopias, etc. Again, I found the Star Wars universe more interesting than Star Trek, but, like you say, it's just a matter of taste

Try the X-wing series (the books) by Allston/Stackpole

On that note, one of the things that annoys me about ST is the lack of non-humanoid aliens. Generally, when there is a non-humanoid, it's more like a monster than anything intelligent.

Skie

star wars is religous.
star trek is not.

think about it, the "dark side"

star trek altho boring is better (in my opinion) because of the fact that there's a lot more to it.
