Starcraft 2 also has dialogue trees. Yes, dialogue trees.

I don't know. Maybe it's just an illusion of choice but apparently you can choose to do side missions or not and other stuff...

ah and also i read that story elements and details will be ... get this ... delivered via some last gen form of content called... TEXT. oh my :)

joke aside. i always felt that certain parts if read feel much more personal ... Starcraft had this in between missions (granted it was short) ... the wiki from IWAR2 also comes to mind with the little in line jokes .... etc.

    Starcraft II

Its coming out very soon and looking forward to it... im going to get as soon as it hits the shelves. I just saw the pre-release on ebgames and almost shit my pants in excitement... its about time they made part 2.

Starcraft was my favorite strategy game of all time, and i still play it from time to time. I think this game is going to be awesome.

Yes, we have. Merged. Search the next time. If you can play it with a mouse there's probably a thread about it.

BEHOLD! Star Craft Beta Sign-Up - AND Blizzards answer to STEAM?

    Create a battle.net account:
    https://us.battle.net/

Sign yourself up for SC2/D3/and or WoW betas

Seeming that the Blizzard account manager has been around for a while, this may not be a surprise to many of you. For me, I had not created a battle.net account before.

Also notice the advertisement for beta on the official star craft 2 website.

WORD TO THE WISE: You must have a valid Blizzard ent. CD key from one of their products. Fortunately for myself and my roomies, I've purchased more than a few copies of Diablo and Star Craft over the years. :)

Cool videos. StarCraft 2 sure looks very StarCraft, guess I won't be withdrawing my pre-order :)

Edit: Has anyone else noticed that Blizzard released a StarCraft patch which now allows for decent CPU throttling? If I'm not mistaken, the original was coded so that it uses a lot of unnecessary CPU cycles on newer computers (not exactly something you want on a new laptop, for example, as it can't conserve power then), but it's fixed now :)

I just find it amazing that that they are still rolling out updates for it! It's bloody 10+ years old! ...And I still play it regularly, weird. At any rate, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get asked to partake in beta.

My biggest problem with non-tile-based RTSes (aside from the overspeeded gameplay and few options) is that they pack too much detail into the graphics. I try to click on one of my tanks - oops, no, that's a cheerfully-colored rock/tree/aux-building. I try to see what's going on in this big battle here, but everything's covered in lens flare, smoke and explosions. I try to see how my resource gatherers in the city are doing, but i have to worm the full 3d camera around 4 different skyscrapers first. I'm guessing Blizzard are going to buy into this trend, but please, give us a detail slider.

One of the reasons units in Starcraft 2 are so big, colorful and gaudy looking is to prevent that.
This isn't CoH or DoW, and Blizzard is really hoping to have this game be as popular for tournies as the original Starcraft, so I have absolutely no doubt they'll attempt to avoid any difficulty in handling your units.
