I'm not trying to gainsay H3rw00d, but as a counterpoint, no one here is really all that hyped up, I think. The NMA consensus seems to readily acknowledge that the game is full of flaws, rough edges, and questionable design decisions, but that it also delivers great writing, a good time, and a gameplay experience that hasn't been available on this scale in well over a decade. I think my brother said it best: it's not perfect by a longshot. Just like Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics.
I'd say you get your money's worth, especially if you haven't played the beta. Just go in expecting it to be its own animal. It's not "Fallout, except...". It's not "FO:T, but...". It's Wasteland 2, plain and simple. The apple didn't fall far from the tree.
