    The first English S.T.A.L.K.E.R. review

I think I have the right to answer your question. No derailment intended. The book is a classic in the way Earth Abides is a classic of the post apocalyptic sci-fi. Anybody who enjoyed Fallout will probably enjoy reading the Picnic. A lot more people saw the movie, than read the book and as it...

    The first English S.T.A.L.K.E.R. review

He interpreted the screen-play that was written by the authors of the Picnic na Obocine novel and was based on the novel, but was not the novel itself. Have you read it? Since when is nterpreting anything a rip off? When you adapt something for screen you interpret the original work. You don't...

Hitchhikers: What's your take on them?

Well, not exactly. Police Reports don't lie. I will see if I can dig something up for you.

    The first English S.T.A.L.K.E.R. review

Sure, I am not accusing them of any malrepresentation. I am simply noting the apparent influences on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. that others might not be familiar with. Wooz, Tarkovsky is great, but he INTERPRETED the book. The book was written in the 1970's and was translated into English. I saw the movie...

    What's you take on this?

I just heard a report from China, where consumers are supposedly organising via the Internet into huge blocks and pressuring the retailers into lowering prices on select consumer goods. Hypothetically speaking, why can't the Fallout Fans do the same and deal collectively with Bethesda about the...

    Pics from a dying city

I am talking about the apocalyptic. I got wastelands from Florida, New York and a few other places, and they ALL have a unique feel to it. I can't post 30 photos to prove my point.

Hitchhikers: What's your take on them?

It happened to friends of my parents when I was 14. It was all the talk among the next few gatherings of the adults. You want me to broadcast the names of the couple? Happened on the Manhattan side of the George Washington Bridge. The perp was never caught.

Hitchhikers: What's your take on them?

This is for real: A yuppie couple in New York saw an Hasidic Jewish man hitchiking. They pulled along thinking he was harmless. The man turned out to be a hispanic who pulled a gun on them and took their purse/wallets. They were surprised, saying that he fooled them with the hat and the locks...

    Pics from a dying city

SuAside, the photos only show buildings from the mid 20th century, the Old Glory. If I was doing it (and I have been photographing railroad tracks, power lines etc for a long time now) I would have included residential neighborohoods touched by crack epidenmic as well as a few modern skyscrapers...

    The first English S.T.A.L.K.E.R. review

The association is there, that's all I am saying. The book was a lot better than the stylized film, and a licensed CRPG based on the book would have created a truly unique product, especially for the Western audiences.

Hitchhikers: What's your take on them?

Hitchikers. Picked up a coupple fo times. Usually people down and out ecnomically needing a ride to the bus/train stop. I would FEEL safe, if I had a trusted friend int he back seat, hiutchiker riding in the front, and if that trusted friend in the back seat had a pistol just in case. But then...

    The first English S.T.A.L.K.E.R. review

It's a new word then. See when and how it was introduced into the language. Stalkers in the story were Scavengers who were stealing alien technological artefacts from a reestricted UFO landing site for sale on the black market.

    The first English S.T.A.L.K.E.R. review

If Stalker was released in Russia to the Russian public, then it was a blatant rip off. When they wrote the book/made the movie, they used the English language word "Stalker", which has no meaning in Russian, and hence, it became a proper name associated with the story in the way of Hobbits or...
