I have to defend the attacks against FO2's setting here. Sure, there were problems, Arroyo, The Enclave and San Fransisco already mentioned. But the plot concerning Reno-NCR-VC is possibly the most intriguing game-plot I've indulged in ever. To me, the story revolved around these three cities...

I reckon the Eden-led Enclave isn't all that evil either. Humanity is getting their balls kicked by different types of mutants down in DC. There's what, maybe half a dozen mutants that won't blow you up and eat your brain the first chance they get in the entire DC area. I'd say that's acceptable...

That's because Fallout 1/2 are of the same generation. There's what, a year, between the releases? And the concept, feel and engine is more or less the same. EDIT: Just to clear things up a bit. I'm not saying that some people who haven't played FO1/2 and are going to like Fallout 3 won't...

Grizzly: That's not in the actual game then? I have memories of reading about the social experiments on an Enclave computer out on the oil rig. Ah well, it's been a whole since I played the whole thing through thouroughly, so it might just as well be my mind which is fabricating things. :)...

I wouldn't think so. A lot of the people that are going to fall in love with FO3 are from a newer generation of gaming. They'd probably have a difficult time appreciating FO1/2. Just like Oblivion fans prefer Oblivions over Morrowind, because it was the first Elder Scrolls game they came in...

Hey! I'm a big fan of Fallout Pencil and Paper but one thing that pisses me off is that the stats for the items are all wrong! Thanks to some testing and Per's Fallout 2 Guide I've changed most of these myself. Though monsters are still wrong. I mean, for God's sake, a Golden Gecko is nothing...

I think Fallout 2 is the better one, and about the story: Both main stories are crap, basic save-the-word/vault/tribe from an evil scientist/master/president plots, BUT F2 have many more (and better) mini-quests that tell an interesting story. Like Modoc-Ghost Farm, VC-Gecko, VC-Reno-NCR...

Bah, beated by WoW, what a shame. The most overrated game ever. :(

Nah, it was quite early stage, I got the basic backbone of the mission. And I can't use oxygen for shit. Basicly, the only thing that was done fully was the conversation system. BTW, haven't I seen you around OFPEC?

I've actually worked on that for a while, but put it aside due to limitations in OFP engine when I tried to transfer the combat system. But now I know a workaround, so I might pick it up after I've finished Frontline Commander, my current project.
