It's just B-29 is not something that average AA gun can just easily taken down. Nazi try to did that with rare success even using their 8.8mm Flak, with mechanical computer, radar, airburst shell, and high velocity propellant that ignited with electric primer. Bear in mind that you try to hit an aircraft that can launch itself into 30,000 feet from ground.
