As this would be the end of Fallout New Vegas, this version of Lonesome Road replacing the ending that happens after the Second Battle of Hoover Dam, the game would end after ED-E sacrifices itself and the player escapes from the Divide.
There would be no need to replace ED-E as the game would basically be over at that point, the robot having regained its memory and a final purpose.

Sorry if it felt like I was shooting down your suggestion for the Lonesome Road ending but I never liked the whole "You have to sacrifice yourself for the greater good" ending in Fallout 3.
It felt really forced and just more something that you would find in a fantasy Epic.
