    Been meaning to read Dick, from what I understand he was in social circles with some serious people that kind of spooked him which may or may not have inspired his writings somewhat.

    I'm completely unaware of that fact. I know nothing about Dick besides what the intro in the book said, which mentioned him becoming religious after Bladerunner: The Book. In honesty, it explains why Minority Report had religious undertones.

    Gnosticism and hermetic alchemy or something iirc. Tried to read Valis when I was 12 and failed. Read Bladerunner 3 years later and loved it.
