Belgium wants loot boxes banned, rules it gambling

I am not familiar with how loot boxes work in that game, so I cannot comment.

Belgium wants loot boxes banned, rules it gambling

As far as I know, Valve & Blizzard have only sold cosmetic things, that don't really affect the outcome of the games. Yes, you can buy different weapons in Hat Fortress, euhm, Team Fortress, but those always have disadvantages to them as well. It's certainly not pay to win.

    The Guns and Ammo Thread

The reset is quite short, yes. The trigger feels deceptively light when dry firing, but isn't really when I compare it to my other guns. Of course, none of my other guns are striker fired, so the comparison is moot. The low left issue is mine. Not the pistol's. The fact you have to hold rather...

    The Guns and Ammo Thread

Double post. I'm am both impressed by the build quality and let down by my inability to shoot it as well as I'd hoped. As a disclaimer, I am the first to admit that I'm not a match pistol shooter and that most likely due to shooting very good triggers, I may be getting spoiled and a lot of my...

    The Guns and Ammo Thread

We have a fair bit of good to great condition SAFNs here, because the belgian army stored a lot of unused ones and re-arsenaled/refinished them before selling them off on the civilian market. There's even some with tiger striped stocks and everything. A lot of the SAFNs sold now in good...

Old games which might/should get remade

Vampire - The Masquerade: Bloodlines is my favorite for a remake. Re-use all voice & story assets and throw it into a new engine with new visual assets. Guaranteed home run in my book. Same thing with Tachyon: The Fringe. A snarky space combat sim with Bruce Campbell voicing the protagonist...

    The Guns and Ammo Thread

The latest additions to the family: SAFN49, civilian, non-military. The collector I bought it from claimed that it was a tool room model for FN-H in Herstal. Considering the guy is extremely well connected and probably the most well known FN collector in the country, he may be right. Either...

Belgium wants loot boxes banned, rules it gambling

Belgium is very protective of children when it comes to gambling. Rightly so, in this case, I guess.

Microsoft wants to do a Shadowrun game

The Harebrained Schemes ones? They're pretty good. Certainly worth buying. Just be sure to play them in their release order, because gameplay-wise they added a bunch of features you'd miss if you played it the other way around.

Would you like to see Obsidian make an Arcanum game?

I feel like Troika did a good job at making Arcanum fully standalone. I don't really need a sequel or reboot in the same universe. If it's not Troika making it, why not just making a game with a similar background instead of trying to use Arcanum?

    Cyberpunk 2077

Temple Of Elemental Evil didn't exactly turn out that great, although it implemented D&D perfectly. My point was that focusing blindly on a system rarely results in good games, even when carried out by an extremely talented studio.

    Cyberpunk 2077

I don't necessarily mind a railroaded game, as long as the story is good. Stuff like SpecOps: The Line could never have worked if it were a sandbox game. A lot of games nowadays give the illusion of choice and consequence, but barely offer any of it. I'd be truly worried if CD Projekt Red...

    Cyberpunk 2077

Too much communication can be just as annoying as too little though. CD Projekt Red has not made many promises, and that's probably a good thing. It gives them the ability to adapt as needed without pissing off fans too much with the changes made during the development cycle. Given how they...

    Gun Control

Our king has a symbolic function though. ;) It's the prime minister that has real power. "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." The problem is that a lot of people read is as "A well...

The All Guardsmen Party Animated Adaptation Project

Aside from doing something half-animated like "Emperor's Text to Speech", I don't think you should put much hope in an graphical adaptation unless you can find talented artists to pour their heart and soul into the project to turn the All-Guardsmen into a web comic or video series. I suspect...

    Gun Control

How do you mean, more outraged? The NRA protests every unlawful shooting of a lawful gun owner. No, they don't protest in the streets, burning cars and throwing in a shop's windows, but they are not silent on the subject in the least? I don't get your point. Do you want the NRA to start shooting...

The All Guardsmen Party Animated Adaptation Project

Do you even need to fucking ask? That said, outside of doing something like The Emperor's Text to Speech from https://www.youtube.com/user/alfabusa it's probably hard to get things done without official support. The 40k Theories guy is also pretty good, but you no doubt know him well enough...

    Gun Control

Open carry may be legal in some places, but things like brandishing a firearm (like aiming at people) is utterly illegal. Have you ever looked at the videos of the people shot? It's no secret that cops sometimes fuck up, but most of the time when a "poor black kid" gets shot for brandishing a...

    Gun Control

A quick google query reveals that (identically to Belgium) Germany allows civilian ownership of fully automatic weapons for arms collectors. While it's not simple to get, it's far from being illegal or impossible. I'm going to let you guess how commonly violent crime is committed by those...
