If you've never played tactics before then just play the original game for the first time with the 1.27 patch. After you've completed the game theirs a conversion mod called Awaken thats really good.

Thanks, I got it working in the end. I didn't install the 1.27 patch, I installed the 1.27a patch by mistake thinking it was the 1.27 version so Awaken wouldn't run.

I installed this but I keep getting an error: the procedure entry point_Ail_set_sample_pan @8 could not be located in the dynamic link Library mss32.dll Anyone have a solution to this problem? Thanks

I think the canon ending will either be: Mr.House ruling over New Vegas and the NCR/Legion withdrawing from the region. Or the NCR killing Mr. House, taking over New Vegas and pushing the Legion back. Since so much back story and plotline was about Mr.House and the NCR.

hahahah I love that heresy stamp, I find the 2D view is what makes those games, you notice much more looking down on a ruined city than running through it as fast as you can.

I finished it with no patches on my windows 95 machine, made the game so much harder since you had to figure out workarounds for all the bugs and crashes. The first Frank Horrigan encounter took me around 20 tries to finish without it crashing to the desktop when the miniguns start firing. I...

This is actually pretty damn good, the scenery and costumes were done really well. Vault 10 experiment was better than most in the new games. Only real negative for me is they showed to many of the jokes in the film in the trailer a few months back.

The missile orbiting satellite at the end of Broken Steel is taken from Van Buren. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Ballistic_Orbital_Missile_Base_001 Fallout 3 just reused elements from Fallout 1/2 and Tactics which was a lot easier for them than using the Van Buren plot lines.

Biggest problem I found was the achievements where you kill 50 people with energy weapons or crippled 100 limbs etc, it was grand when you got them the first time but they keep coming up again and again so you level up to quick.

Tied between Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics but Fallout 1 had the best story line in my opinion.

Found a strange bug where females weren't able to climb certain ladder/stairs in the Jefferson mission and if you recruit a companion with the loner perk they permanently get a 10% bonus to all statistics.

Since i haven't played it in so long I just went for a normal install with some tweaks like carry weight/perks and bartering. Cheers I will check out Awaken as soon as I'm finished, never heard of Children Of The Apocalypse and Lost In The Wastelands, i'll check them out now.
