I´m sorry, but I really don´t get how this is bad writing. They explained it in a way that follows the lore and adds new stuff to it for a 'fun' premise (This is basically a creatively bankrupt idea for a DLC, imo). Is there shit to rag on? Sure, but I fail to see how this is one of them.

At least it´s over, the next one is probably going to come out 10 years from now, if nothing happens to Bethesda. If it does happen, it´ll be fun seeing the F5 apologists saying F4 was garbage and that people only like it because of nostalgia :)

There really isn´t one. From my time skulking the forum before joining, it seems to be mostly divided. Some want it to go back to the isometric camera with turn based action of the classics, others want the first/third person camera with real time action and some don´t really give a shit.
An indie developer got 5th on the highest selling game on launch in steam. I´m pretty sure he could give two shits about his reputation. Guess the snake oil business never stops because of shit like this :shrug:
I think Mass Effect is bad and hasn´t aged well at all.
Edit: And I think BoS is better than F4, solely on the terms that it caused less harm for being a spin off game
