A Guide to American Political Parties

Whatever happened to the real news, concerning the things that actually affect us? Where are the political debates I used to see on TV in the early 90's? I require information, not hogwash god damn it!

Local news has never been like that over here. As long as I can remember its always been murders, rapes, and highway accidents.

Of course, we do have Cable news networks that report on national and international matters, but local issues are never brought up in the local news. The only way to familiarize yourself with local politics is to read the newspaper.

The trick is that many people here don't bother to read real newspapers (Real short attention span and possibly lack of comprehension capabilities) so they just settle for tabloids, the newspaper version of TV  . A bunch of morons really, but a numerous bunch none the less  . In conclusion: everyone gets what the majority deserves.

Paper Media

Paper Media

c.:
.. real newspapers ..

Traditional newspaper 'print' media is less likely to be locally owned, in the U.S.
More likely a large corporation bankrolls, and controls, the venture.

Staying locally orientated does still sell papers, but there are rarely more than one paper per city. Local commerce and government still need this medium to "sell' their messages to the largest number of eye balls.

It's the "free" papers full of bar, niteclub, and "swingers" ads that sometimes have the real 'scoop' on local politics, or are willing to discuss the sleazier side of an issue, especially if it will embarrass the 'elite'.

I think the only "real" news that isnt under some corporate sponsorship is the American Free Press. They give out their news free on a weekly basis and it is no-holds-barred with any and all opinions no matter who they may offend! Getting your hands on it though is very hard...as the paper usually denounces both the Dem. and Rep. parties as both being corrupt.

Keep on rockin' in the free world...,
