Ol' Mac Gamer
I think I might have said this before but, are there any mods/unofficial patches that run on the Omni Group's old Mac native builds of Fallout 1 & 2 (besides Killap's Fallout 2 patch)?
From my understanding that only works on the GOG version (which is essentially the windows version in a wine wrapper). I'm talking about the original PowerPC Mac version from the Omni Group in 2002.Probably most won't work out of box, but with some tinkering I think many will. Essentially what they do is copy files over.
I'm not sure what do you mean. Almost all mods just copy files. Are you saying that wouldn't work on PowerPC Mac? (Sorry, not really familiar with it)From my understanding that only works on the GOG version (which is essentially the windows version in a wine wrapper). That mod's available at the fallout database. Although it is Mac native, I don't use it as it seems to have a lot of glitches (perhaps it was made for an earlier/unpatched version of the game). It's old, and I don't know if it is still out there hiding in someone's archive, but there was one called the Jonah mod, I think. This would have been an unofficial patch from around 2006, I think. I may even have it in my own archives. If I can find it, I'll send it to rapidshare or something.
As I said the GOG Mac version is really just the PC version in a wine wrapper. The old PPC builds a bit different if I understand correctly. Besides having a difference in endianness, it also had a slightly different data folder structure.I'm not sure what do you mean. Almost all mods just copy files. try zipYou know, I tried to download & install TeamX's 1.3 patch to see if it's compatible, but it keeps telling me the archive is incomplete whenever I attempt to extract it. Just so you know, I'm using The Unarchiver to extract the rar file.
