BioShock has continued its current press blitz, releasing a constant stream of interviews, videos, and previews. GameSpot has a video of gameplay, with Ken Levine, Creative Director; Nate Wells, Technical Art Director; and Melissa Miller, Content Producer, explaining about the game overlaying the audio. The video also seems to show several in-game scenes, such as a Big Daddy attacking another character.

There have also been two recent BioShock podcasts released. The first is a refreshingly open, not to mention lengthy, interview with Gamers With Jobs; and the second is part of the Cult of Rapture's podcast series, focusing on BioShock's physics.

BioShock Official Movie 3 at GameSpot.
GWJ Conference Call Episode 36, featuring the Ken Levine interview at 57:45.
Episode Eight: The Physics Behind BioShock at the Cult of Rapture.

Spotted at The Cult of Rapture and an anonymous tip.

This is the only game I'm looking forward to.

I hope no one complains that it isn't a deep RPG. Levine has been really trying to hammer the point home that it is a deep shooter, not a RPG at all. It seems that Levine is keenly aware that people are basing their expectations on System Shock 2, and may be disappointed. It will likely happen anyway, despite Levine's warnings.

Unfortunately, the tentative system requirements have Shader model 3 as a baseline; which means my current computer won't support the game.

For some reason I am not looking forward to Bioshock at all, damned if I know why. I think part of it has to do that I cannot stand any more articles/previews that talks about big daddies and little girls.
It will probably be the same in Fallout 3, except that we will have countless "bad ass pics" showcasing BoS guys and superorcs.

That could be a potential buy though depending on well it would run on my computer.

Oh well, that would leave me out as well.

System requirements alone put this game way beyond my reach, so i'm not really looking forward to it.

It does look sweet, though. Could be a very good game, if it will in fact pack more than fancy explosions and gathering resources from girls with syringes, hehe.

Wow, a company that does release information about their game.

The choices in the game alone make me confident enough to call it a RPG. That's why I can't wait for the game. I want to fuck some big daddies up, too.

recently updated and right now this is the only thing i'm looking forward to.. except maybe the Medieval Total War expansion ...

i'm willing to let some dumbing down slip by with this thing on account for the excellent art style :)
  8. MapMan

Im not really all that excited about this game. It looks good and ill probably give it a try but first I need to change my hardware. Playing a game in the lowest settings possible is just like eating a hotdog without the sausage :P

I really like the look of this game, and kudos to the developers for being upfront about it being first and foremost a FPS.

I've not really been a fan of any of the new 'generic' shooters, this though looks like it is going to evolve the genre to another level. Who knows, despite being a FPS it may yet offer a greater degree of choice and depth (no pun intended!) than many new RPG's will. Cant wait to try it out, though I too will need an upgrade :/

Dynamic AI is the huge selling point to me.
Well, that and being the spiritual sequel to System Shock 2.

I hope these were genuinely dynamic events and not events statically scripted just for the release of the trailer. In their gameplay trailer, they seem like they actually have the dynamic AI worked out(Unlike Stalker/Oblivion).

I guess the verdict comes out in a couple of months. Until then, I'll keep slowly withering away, wasting my work hours arguing with people on Beth's forums.

    This Unlike FO3; Is

-An Actual Thinking Mans FPS (Like SS2)
-Dynamic and Complex interaction with Enemies (Like SS2)
-Large and unique world to explore (Like SS2, but possibly even more unique and/or cool)
-Done by some of the same Developers who did SS2 (and Thief)
-Created with artistic skill and dedication, also people who KNOW this type of setting.

BioShock is the DeFacto modern spiritual sequel to SS2, in all but name.

Also seems to be more what everyone expects and wants Vs. FO3.

I for one am not too impressed with what I see so far, it looks like a pure action game with free-roaming elements. not really my kind of game from what I'm seeing. I'll wait to play it before i judge it though.

I'm looking forward to Bioshock not as a hardcore RPG, but just as a good game with a lot of thought put into setting and gameplay. I like Irrational a lot.

I'm intentionally avoiding most of the pre-release hype. I just want to see what Bioshock is when it's released.
