Fallout 2 utility Blender Camera resource

Vondora

First time out of the vault
So, today I was joking around in blender and got a sudden urge to try to simulate the classic's camera. I ended which a pretty close result. I don't know if anyone has posted one of these already but may help some future mods.

Anyone is free to use this file, also the bb9 attached was modeled by me ;)

I am very interested in figuring out how to make new critters and art in blender for use in a Fallout 2 mod.
I already have blender installed, and have a basic grasp of the animation, but I don't know what to do with your file. Can you please explain how to use it? or point me to a guide?

Cool, but I'm not sure how to use it. I opened the file in blender, and a house object popped in with 3 different cameras around it. I can probably figure out how to swap between the 3 different camera angles, but the gif posted has 14 different angles around the body, and Fallout 2 needs at least 6 per animation.

I may be a bit confused here, since it seemed like you were adding the spinning fallout 3 power armor as an example of what the rendering template can do.

Sorry for the delay, I can help you. In the gif I used the "Fallout" camera inside the file, and made the power armor rotate 360 degres during 14 frames.

I believe you could easily render your critters by putting them in the middle of the scene and rendering how much frames you wanted, if the creature move you could set the model as a parent to the camera so it can follow.

Here once you open the file you should see this:

You can either append the object "Fallout" from this file to another file, or import to this file.

You can resize the dimensions of the render here(I would recommending rendering in small sizes to save time):

To control the zoom, go to camera properties and adjust the second setting. You can reposition the camera, just don't mess with the rotation :P

Here the gif I made, I had to "resize" the animation to about 15 frames, and mixed emission with the shader so that the model would self illuminate, it may not be accurate, but considering that fallout 2 is not true 3D it may deliver closer results. The animation is 10 frames per second.

After some trial & error, these camera angles worked better for my trap object:

- 60 degrees X
- 56.7 degrees Z

I used game screenshot on background as reference.
