Cannot make saves anymore

I was coming back from the minefield in a slightly altered route to bring moira some mines

came up from behind the school and saved once i got close, after that i can no longer save, the game crashes on every save, even if i zoom into megaton and save it still crashes but everything up to that point is fine

i had no problems with saving before

what are some common causes of such a thing?

Well:

1. Go to the save folder properties and make it not "read only"
2. You have no free space.
3. Reinstall the game.
