Companion bugged

I have fully patched fallout 3 (steam) on Vista 32. I got charon as a companion. Suddenly he died, without any reason. I took save game, he dies again. I take save game and try to fast travel away. He dies before I get elsewhere. My save is replaced by new autosave....


So, I wanted him back so I used resurrect 1 command. If I fast travel, he comes with me but does not move. He talks to me like he did before I bought him. How do I make him follow me again?

if you're running mods they could conflict with the game. i think i had the same problem with jericho when i first started playing
