This is a random encounter idea:

As Interplay was also the company behind Descent they should put in one of those comical REs with Descent as the theme. You could run accross a crashed Descent ship with the driver ejected and looking upset. When you talk with him he tells you that his fusion reactor had a malfunction and and he crashed. He asks you if you could help him by finding 100 fusion cells to power his ship. When you do this for him he should give you a "special" item. Possibly special rockets for you rocket launcher like the smart missles (the tracking ones with little tracking green plasma balls) from the descent game. This should be the only place in the game you can get these missles.

Hey why not have some other "stars" of interplay games appear in the game as random encounters. Imagine our hero's shock when he encounters a fully armed band of warriors and warlocks. Maybe he could get a wand of summoning from one.

And while we are at it, why can't we get the Starship Enterprise to drive around and kill everyone with it's phasers and photon torpedoes?

They already did that in 2 recall a crashed ship with red uniformed bodies on the ground :) . By the way what were those hypo needle things you get from their bodies.

They were essentially super stimpacks without the negative effects.

I think Fallout 2 already had too many anachronisms and out of character content. I mean, maybe just subtle stuff but it was really overdone in Fallout 2.

Yeah, I have to admit, the special encounters in Fallout were much better because they weren't all references to movies.

That Used Car lot one in Fallout still cracks me up.

Or maybe you could get some special NPCs from other Interplay games in random encounters. Think of it -

Olaf from The Lost Vikings beating up the Enclave with a super sledge!

npc´s from games

yes. that guy from Another world, shooting Enclave troops with his laser pistol.

RE: npc´s from games

Yeah... or Kurt Hectic, or the Blackthorne guy, or Andy from Heart Of Darkness, or Bob the Angel. Maybe even someone from Kingpin.

Now THAT would be one big reference!

Well, if they're going 3D they might as well throw in all that too because all the old fans have left a long time ago.

No it would have to be max the robot from wasteland or Ugly John (i`m ugly and you`re not)
Ok maybe some guy from bard`s tale like the demon god in the third one
