So I made a thread long ago if Heavy metal music existed in the Fallout verse. To which in extent it may exist or it may have not. But now, just from style and haircuts and maybe even attitude in the wasteland. It bring me to the question if punk rock music existed in the Fallout-verse. Because it seems many of the styles were inspired by somethings from punk rock. It'd be nice to hear some dudes in the club playing some shit by Circle Jerks, Adolescents, The Germs, NOFX, or Black Flag. So what are your thoughts on this? Do you think punk rock exists in the Fallout verse?

I think it would be a thing its just I doubt that it would of been main stream before the war and therefore no recording of it would be around. In the mod I am making will include something like that. Some guitar making music on an old guitar and recording it. Selling holotape records , kinda a neat idea really. Selling 15 cap holotapes that play music.

It would have to be made by a raider sect. Brotherhood, Caesar, even NCR wouldn't let that stuff play.

I honestly, would be okay with punk in Fallout. Would like to be original music, as in, post-war.

Well, we have Punks in these games, it wouldn't suprise me.
It just annoys me Bethesda don't really care about that, even the original games never went as far into the 50's as Bethesda.
(Well, New Vegas kind of did, and while that's an issue, I can overlook it), even BoS, for as much as the music didn't fit at all, it at least tried something new.

So yeah, Punk is in the Fallout Universe.
In all honesty, Raiders look like they would listen to something like Sex Pistols and even some industrial like Rammstein (I can't imagine them listening to Metallica).

I can just imagine that Raiders go in a mosh pitt when the protagonist isn't looking (Wouldn't that make a great side mission, you go to a concert and make sure that fans of a rival band don't fuck things up or something?).

Yeah, it is kind of annoying(in my opinion) that Bethesda and Obsidian took the whole 1950s theme and then whored it out like no tomorrow in Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 4 even though Fallout and Fallout 2 never took it that far. And there is a good reason(in my opinion) the first two games never took it that far. Because taking it that far with the 1950s theme just makes the game blatantly inauthentic. It's like people in post apocalyptic America never moved on and created their own culture because they are all obsessed 1950s fanboys and fangirls. Taking it that far, turned the last 3 Fallout games into 1950s theme Disneyland rides instead of dark post apocalyptic RPGs like Fallout and Fallout 2. It would be nice if the next Fallout game, doesn't have an overpowering 1950s theme but something more true to Fallout and Fallout 2.

I don't really see this at all ? Surely they had to find and keep there vibe they had going for them. We are never really given the back story if anything emerged post war. In fallout 4 theres that singer magnolia how create new music so yes new music post war is the franchise if only in one bar in good neighbor.

I doubt that type of punk could happen as I think the electric guitars are pretty done for after hundreds of years. The tube amps probably arn't ganna work however they might if some with no how could but i very much doubt this would be viable for raiders. However there a acoustic guitar and microphone in FNV. Clearly recording can still be made too via holotapes. So I guess acoustic punk could be very much could be a thing. I think as society builds back up again music will come with it too even it starts back to where it was in 1900s with very limited recordings ect. But as living conditions improve so will culture ect and so will music. I would imagine the small would be true with sports. I imagine there be some kind of sport that would start to get played, maybe not baseball but something like that prehaphs

You probably don't see it because it doesn't bother you. There is a difference between throwing in a few 1950s themed content in Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 4 to keep the same vibe and what they actually did. Does a gang of Elvis impersonators in Fallout New Vegas ring a bell? That is just overkill combined with all the other 1950s themed content in Fallout New Vegas.

Sorry I see what you mean. I thought you where saying about the buildings and the posters that sought of thing. But yeah the kings are quite over the top in face and perhaps too much. I don't mind too much because they didn't actually know who they where dressed like and that was kind of ironic. Probably better than a boring gang or something. But I can see why you thinking its trying to hard its alot clique. But actually it has some good game play then as you really want to get into the strip but you cant cuz you don't have the caps ect. And the missions he give you are quite interesting the one with the body guard is quite good.

Tbh what did bother me the most was rex. I really did hate that cyborg dog. Like real disliked it. That was one of the worst things in fallout new vegas. That dam dog

I would assume that it did, but in small pockets of underground counter-culture. After the war, whoever actually has the means to be a musician may or may not take a liking to it.

I'd imagine if not before the great war, then certainly after. Maybe it's the Great Khan's and other Raider tribes equivalent to folk music?

Hmm...I would guess it would be more prevalent in NCR controlled areas if it exists.

As for pre war music...Im not so sure we would have bands like the Exploited or Blanks 77, or GBH or the type of punk I personally like, that older 70s-80s sound due to society as a whole kind of having this...50s nuclear family and ideals. That type of rebellion existed during that culture but not that music.

Im guessing greaser type music and perhaps some rockabilly, but that 70s and 80s mentality never really materalised in the FO world as far as I know.

I have always wondered what the organic music of the post apocalyptic fallout world would be...would it be heavily influenced by the pre war? Do the Khans and Vipers make their own tunes? We got a glimpse in New Veagas but that was just a glimpse if a music very influenced by the location and culture of Vegas.

If punk DID exist..im sure its that pop punk bullshit
