I have recently installed Fallout 1 and 2 again after not playing for several years. I got all the needed patches, I installed the Fallout 1 high res patch which works well. Some of the movies still look a bit off with black spaces around them. But the game looked fine.

Its Fallout 2 high res that is giving me some problems. I have the versional already patched with the 1.2 patch. I installed killaps unofficial patch and then I got the latest version of Sfall I believe its 2.20. Anyway I try to change by screen resolution to 1366x768 which is my max screen resolution and its what I use normally. It worked in Fallout 1 and it won't work in Fallout 2. I get black bars on the left and right sides of the screen in game. I changed the Sfall draw files mode to 4 in the graphics options in the ini file. This did not help.

I don't understand why it won't work. Fallout 1 high res works fine. The only resolution I can use in Fallout 2 is 640x480.

If anyone knows a solution I would like to play both games in 1366x768.

I have windows 7 64 bit home edition
my Direct X is up to date

    figured it out

Sorry about my posts guys. I figured it out. Only the part outside the temple has the black bars on the left and right in 1366x768 Res. Once I went inside the temple it was all good. Just like in Fallout 1. Killap and whoever else made the high res mods did a great job and Fallout looks great in 1366x768. Everything looks so nice. I used some of the older versions of these mods years ago and they are definitely better now. :)
