Shattered Destiny

The Fallout modification "Shattered Destiny" is the first of three chapters, that (I hope) will bring back the old Fallout feelings. In this mod, the player isn't the vault dweller or a chosen one, the player is just a guy like you and me in a post apocalyptic world that has been tortured over the years...

Story:
Chronic:
28 March 2161 - Some unusually heavy armed raiders attacks a caravan... the caravan, where you are a hired guard of. Because of the superior equipment of the raiders, everybody dies... well, not really everybody. Under heavy fire you can save yourself behind a bigger rock in the wastelands.

12 April 2161 - the player enters a small location in the so called "Grand Guignol", an enormous valley, where in former times a flowering city confessed, but finally swallowed by the wild desert sand. Now the modification and the first part, "Shattered Destiny" starts.

(more later)

Release date:
30.09.2007

Download:
Shattered Destiny German Version 1.3.00
Shattered Destiny English Version 1.1.00

Other:
For this mod it is recomendet, that you use a fresh Fallout 2 version, without any other mods or patches installed! The effects of the patches would be anyway useless, because Shattered Destiny has (in this way) nothing to do with the other Fallout scripts and maps. The only patch you could install is the bloodpatch, if you need it.

The story plays approximately one or two months before the incident in Vault 13.
Which "incident" in V13?
The FO1 incident (as in: water chip breaking), or the FO2 incident (as in: ridiculous, super-intelligent deathclaw genocide).

I am hoping that it is the first, but, being as it is a Fallout 2 mod, I thought I'd best ask.

Anyway, looks nice, I look forwards to trying it out.

Is this being done alone?

The first, before the water chip breaking ;)

In the next time, there will be more pics to see.

You guys wonna have some updates?

I have uploaded 2 new Screens. More will be follow. And Necroid has joined the small team and will work on the new ambient music. He makes cool stuff and I´am sure that you will like his industrial stuff. Maybe at the next update you can hear one or two tracks.

The new screens:

You can see parts of the new big Trader-City Hogarth. (some kind like the Hub)

Oh yes, and I updated the homepage and the forum if it someone interests. More updates in the next time but for now I´am too tired to do anything else with it and will going to sleep right now oO...

So long.... and stay tunned!

Very nice, but I would say that it's a little undercrowded, is there any more scenery you can add? Also the brahmin pens look a little strange being so long and thin.

When we may listen the music samples?
And mod look promising, screens was made in high resolution?

Yes, and I admit that the maps are´nt finished yet to 100% :>
Some parts needed a little bit more attention of me.

He´s working on the music at the moment ;) besides he has also still 3 other projects to run. But you can hear some other work of him. As example [NostroM] and he managed the CSC (Cybernetic Sound Corporation).

The screens are in higher resolution, because I used this resolution patcher for Fallout2. But with it, it´s not so fun playing the game, because of dialogbox bugs, and so on...

Yes, it will give an english version. But for now it´s easyer for me to make it at first in my own language. ;)

What about allies.... I have noticed over the few mods, I haven't seen much or no recruits. Will we be able to recruit or buy mercenaries.

But all in all, more wastelands, more desolation... more death.

Understandable. When it's all done and time to translate, I bet you could find some help with translating through this forum.

Mutants Rising will include followers, and completely new talking faces, but thats all I'm going to say about that.
