fallout 2 vault 15 darion is missing

I've started replaying fallout 2 and i am at the part where you have to go to vault 15 for the ncr and kill darion to free the homeless there. only problem is that after i killed my way to the third floor and killed his gaurds darion vanished without talking to me. I've tried searching for him using the combat highlighting trick but the third floor is empty and the quest still says i have to kill him.

please help
also i am using the restoration project

By default he runs away without even equipping his flamer, so he might be hidden behind a wall and out of LOS.

If you absolutely cant find him, try this :

-Exit vault 15
-Save outside of vault 15
-Make a backup
-Use the f12se savegame editor to delete "vault15.sav" from your savegame (do not delete it without using f12se)
-Save

Go back into vault 15, everything should be reset to default and another Darion should be there. Save outside his room just in case.
