Fallout 4 New Vegas Mod, and what you would want to keep from Fall of Duty 4

GonZo_626

Well Shit!
So I have been watching some of the release videos of the New Vegas overhaul for Fall of Duty 4 - Minecraft edition. I have to say it is looking pretty sweet. But as I sometimes do I started reading some of the comments and it had me start thinking about what parts of 4 I would actually want to have in it.

Weapon/Armor Mod system
- I actually feel FO4 improved upon this from New Vegas, but maybe too improved as I would like to see a somewhat scaled back version of this maybe being able to combine a few guns into one that you mod differently. Think the service rifle/assault carbine/marksmen carbine, these are all the same gun in reality an AR-15, so it would be nice to have it as one that you mod up although this may be a little game breaking. The same can be said with the armors (lightweight-normal-reinforced) plus the split up armor pieces is nice.

The shooting
- Yeah, yeah RPG and such but lets face it Beth fucked us in F3 and we are stuck with this view now so we may as well enjoy combat without having to resort to VATS

The settlement system
-Now here me out here as I am nor talking about the full system and I don't want no fucking settlers, or trade routes, or (the list goes on...….). I am thinking it would be nice to customize some of the player houses for more our liking. I would really like to mess around in my suite in the Lucky 38

Yeah the only thing I'd want to keep from the settlements is the customization of my own house and to still send my companions there but without the water/food/electricity necessities.
Shooting being better is good. And the customization could just be left like it was in NV and I'd be very happy. I felt like all the extra stuff 4 offers only allowed you to make a pistol, semi auto, or automatic rifle and then there's not much balance outside of that. There's typically a few customizations that are superbly better as long as you don't mind the little bit of extra weight. Just felt like it wasn't fleshed out well enough.

I don't think there's much else you'd want to keep. I haven't watched anything on it but I really would not want to store my critical hits in VATS, it's silly to me. Give a chance to hit critically and allow my stats and perks to modify that. Sprint can be kept, I forget that's part of Project Nevada.

Most of the armor and weapon customization options are just different tiers of the same thing. A few change weapon type. I don't want tiers and I don't want to change the weapon type with mods, because that makes everything samey. They should cut out the clutter, and bring back real variety with more basic options and true uniques to collect (not randomly generated legendary bullshit). It also needs a proper repair system again. And frankly I'm not a fan of the piecemeal armors. I can't think of a single thing it adds other than clutter.

Settlements are another example of them taking an idea so far that it becomes something utterly undesirable. My Megaton house is far closer to what it should have been. So that's a better starting point than Fo4 imo.

I would keep how the power armour feels and functions as it is truer to the originals but leave out the necessity of fusion cores.

I actually hope they change the Legion armour design some. Always found it to look extremely disappointing. Doubt better graphics will help it.

I'd definitely like the gunplay from FO4 to stay.

Sure. Just make it a rarer suit of armor to obtain and remove fusion cores and it's golden.

huumm.......

1) Can´t really remember if this is a option for companions, but remember that Minutemen quest, where you have to fight against some giant mirelurk? in this quest, some minutemen show up from nowhere and you can command them, position them on the map. Kind of a Mass Effect. I think that's pretty cool. If the companions have this option, it would be the maximum.

2) I hate the settlement system, BUT if you think about it, it makes a lot of sense in NV. As you are always visiting the same places several and several times (Freeside, Novac, Camp MacCarran, Strip, The Fort etc etc) having a distribution network for your items connecting all these places is a nice thing to have.

But then, just expand the Mojave Express service would have the same effect.

3) nice things that they will probably leave (the guy howling after using pyscho, the dedicated grenade button, the PA system etc)
