I’ve seen a few Ads on Facebook, I honestly %102, with a %2 margin of error, fully believe Season 2 is going to be exactly like Joker 2: Folie a Deux; made to be spiteful of the “wrong kind” of Fans who were (rightfully) critical of the embarrassment and farce that Todd and Emil allowed the IP to evolve backwards into. Script is guaranteed to double down on basically everything.

It'll be fun to watch it burn if nothing else.

But the Joker 2 was (supposedly) made to spite the “wrong kind” of fans that actually liked original. The wrong kind of fans didn’t like season 1 of Fallout.

I'd just wish they'd go out and say that the show takes place in an alternative timeline or somthing.
That's exactly what I was thinking, have it be its OWN continuity, instead of pairing it up with the OG Game continuity! That way they have all the creative freedom they want, not limited due to established lore & whatnot.

I could live with that if that was the case but Todd Howard already mentioned that the series is basically Fallout 5.

If you want complete creative freedom make a new IP. Sequels and spinoffs are by definition not completely free they have standards and continuity theyre beholden to. Otherwise just call the show "the wastes" or some shit

alternate continuities are easier to make compared to new ip, cost less money than you think, they just have "official" tittle instead of fan fiction, and to be real, anything that is not created by the original creator are also fan fiction
they are just sequels without numbers

The showrunners made it very clear that they wanted the show to have genuine impact on the game's timeline. That just setting the show on some unexplored location in the US untouched by the games or the lore was unappealing to them. Besides, this isn't the MCU to start introducing alternative realities right now.
