Fallout2: Survivor MOD - related stuff

Why 'Survivor' when it's more about weapon classes than survival. Wouldn't 'Weapon Specialist Mod' be a more accurate and informative title?

Just curious about how people come to choose the titles for their mods.
 
Hehe... At last right question. Actually, 'Survivor' came from the whole mod concept, not from the main idea of the mod (which is weapon specialization). There are bunch of changes, so game can be easier or harder depending on your choices, so it's up to you to 'survive' the game.

BTW, even if weapon specialization was the only thing I implemented in a mod, I'd never call it 'Weapon Specialist Mod'... I think 'Armed and Rampaging' would be much better :D
 
Oh, word of advice for all munchkins, try starting the Temple with a high powered player.... See who greets you at the gates of the Temple. ***Insert Evil snickering****

How do you do this? Use Falche during the intro movie?
 
No, have a hi-powered player at conception, like make a GCD from the Char Edit, and see what happens... or one the original Super Character Miroslav... But the GCD I think triggers it.

I really hate cheating. And I really love Fallout. So I made THE anti-cheat system for my mod, hoping it'll be more interesting playing it 'normal'... Surviving it, hehe :)
 
Yeah, mind you I have beaten Fallout 1 and 2 fair and square... But something told me used an edited character. No heavy edits I do mind you, I more or less just give a small buff to a skill and to one or two stats... But I never add perks, I believe I should earn those.

Anyhow, I am playing your game fair and square and going the way of the Gunslinger.
 
Actually, THE anti-cheat system recognizes values of the stats/skills and even the slightest change of the character is being punished.
Conclusion: THE only way to play Survivor is 'fair and square' :wink:
 
One problem I have so far Lisac2k, when I bed Miria the game sticks...

And my car disappeared at Redding, of all places. So now I am carless.

These are two problems I have discovered so far and I am all the way to Broken Hills.
 
What's your sex, charisma and modoc town reputation when you try bed Miria? (I didn't change her script, it's Stone-D latest version)

The car issue - only FRM was changed. The car script and Redding map script were not changed in any way!

And I fixed the disappearing car in Redding. It should be OK now. I dunno what's with Miria, if anyone else has the problem sleeping with her - let me know, and I'll see what I can do...
 
Is dying instantly part of the temple of trials too?

whenever I use a non-default character some message appears quickly and my character drops dead.

Your 'Anti-cheating' system at work no doubt, Highly ammusing for the first microsecond. Stops cheating cold, gameplay too.

True I don't think my fallout is 100% mutation free anymore... (too many mods, who knows what has happened to the files...)

cheat protection in a single player game is not always the most welcome feature.
 
I think you have the game set to Easy. I had the same thing. Then I put everything on Medium and voila...
 
Such things have been discussed on the forum - here, so feel free to come by and read it yourself...

BTW, the anti-cheat ssystem has been updated, so was the whole mod, there's always something more to fix. Current version is 1.02a, but it'd the best to visit the forum and read all stuff about it there.
