FO 3 crashes on startup

First time out of the vault
I bought Fallout 3 today. I installed the game, the patch, and made a live acct, and updated the live acct.
The game crashes after selecting new game. What do I need to do to fix this?

I am using;
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200
Vista


I also made sure my drivers were updated.

I am using Realtek, I noticed it was mentioned in another thread. Is there is something better?
