Become Citizen of Vault City?

Alright i go to the Vault City customs office. This one guy tells me that unless i am a citizer or if i have a day pass that i can go into the innercity part. I would rather pass the test to become a citizen then buy a day pass. He tells me to go to some Preconsul guy? Where is he? Yes i have high intelligence (I think 9) so i will probably pass the test. But i need to know how i can take it? Please help.

First of you u need a day pass (or fake citizenship paper) to enter the city. (to take the test) Free day pass if u have good speech and u convince the custom guy OR if u talk to him without armor and only with vault suit.

False citizenship paper can be purchased for 300 bucks (100 bucks less if u have good bargaining skills)

The vault citizenship paper is amazingly hard. 9 intellligence alone isn't going to get u in. Unless you have incredible science skills too. Then you need to pass physical test, which requires decent perception. And i think decent 1 other stat.(forgot, search in archives) If you were radiated too often and developed a mutant toe, you will fail the test unless you get it removed @ the doc outside vault city.

The easiest way to get citizenship paper is to do a favor for vault city. Vault city need:
1. Repair Gecko power plant. (talk to people in the coucil room to get started)
2. Kill raiders bothering vault city

There may be more quest to get citizenship papers but the gecko powerplant one is easiest.

It'll take more than starting attributes alone (Intelligence, Strength, etc...) to pass the citizenship test. Cheating my character up to a complete 10 character (except Strength 9, Charisma 9, and Luck 7,) I failed. So yes, you'll need a pretty hefty science skill (and maybe others) to pass the test. Immensely hard, and probably not worth the effort.
About the post above: Talk to McClure (not the First Citizen, she's a bigot,) about Gecko, and then repair the Gecko power plant to attain citizenship. The Raiders work too, but that takes more travelling, and is hard (read: "deadly") for lower levelled characters.

As from above, just repair the Gecko plant (try not to blow it up.) Every other mode of citizenship is a bit too tedious.

The EASIEST way to ente the vault is just spend 300 bucks for fake citizen, enter combat mode, move in the vault. but during the quest is still good for exp.

alright my latest character has 10 intelligence 10 perception 10 agility and 10 luck (haha 2 strength, 1 endourance, 1 charisma).


you need a 10 intelligence. thats the only way you can do it plus you need a pretty good speech skill. science skill doesnt matter that much. I remember having 9 intellignce and 50% speech. i took it and failed, told me that my vocabluary was fine just not math skills. i leveled pick gained intelligence, didnt increase my speech or science and went took it and passed. for physical jsut dont have mutated toe.

plus hop out of your armor and go to the guy and hell give you a free one(day pass). but still you need to be a citizen to get into the vault, or you can do that combat thing.

You can also get drugs into the Valut. What you do is drop it at the gates. Have the guards open the gates, pick up the drugs and walk in through the gates. Use this to sneak Jet to the doctor easily
