Exp from thieving bug?

if you steal more than 9 things at once you only get the same exp as you would get for 9. why?

I think experience from stealing ultimately depends on how much you've put into your thieving skill. For instance, if you have 300% steal, you get no experience at all for stealing. If you have 150% steal, you'll get experience points for stealing x number of items, and if you have 50% steal, you'll get more experience for stealing the same number of items. The lower your skill is, the more experience you'll get (which makes sense, since it's harder, and you're learning from the challenge, thus gaining experience).

So I don't think this is a bug necessarily. There's just a limit to how much experience you'll gain from one steal, combined with your skill in thieving.

I don't think so. I think it's just based off the number of items you steal.

Try stealing the items one at a time. You get more xp by stringing together a longer consecutive successful steal streak. 1 = 10xp, 2 = 30xp, 3 = 60xp... I never managed to get pass 3 successful steals attempts. :( If you get caught, you get no xp for the previous successes.
 
I have 100% Thieving

and foun a good and easy target i VC (one of those who gives day pass). He had 50 cash and som other stuff. I tried to take as many things as i could and only got 238 exp (think it was 14 or 15 things), after that i tried 12 and i got 238 exp. Then i tried 9 things and still got 238, but when i tried 8 i got 210 exp.

btw I found out that you earn most exp by stealing 5 things in a row (160exp), because the bonus decreses when you steal 6 things. Think next was 180.

... the easiest to way to get exp from stealing, is... *dun dun, da dun* stealing from the drugged up geckos in Arroyo. just plant and steal broc roots. easiest way to lvl up early on in the game. gets a bit tedious though. with a stealing of like 10% i managed to steal and plant broc flowers at least 5 times.

Honestly, isn't this a little... against the spirit of the game? It's much more fun to advance to Klamath and start gaining quest xp instead. Or even kill rats in Trapper Town. Rat steak! Yum.

Yeah, if you're going to use exploits to level then you might as well just make it easy on yourself and use Falche2.

I usually just help out the Duntons, laugh at missing smiley, buy Sulik (for future slave sale (1200$ is not bad), get my first gun (rat caves), the car part (ugh). And of course...

Betray whisky bob and steal Vics gear from his house.

Did I mention I prefer the EVIL route hehehehe...
