Fighting in the Basement of the Shark Club

Hello to all those whom remember me (I'm the annoying one that completely opposed FO tactics because of the non-turn based combat)..

Anyways... After re-finding my fondness for FO2, I realised that I never quite figured out how to fight the masticator in the basement of the Shark club. I know that the official strategy guide says that you can, but I never quite figured out how... Does anybody know to?

And I also got a strange random encounter that I never got out of the close to 15 times I have won the game. I got a bunch a homeless people begging me for money :)

I think the strategy guide would be wrong on that. It's been wrong about other things, such as the Cheezy Poofs. Does anyone here have the guide? I'd be interested to hear how detailed it is.

That's nothing out of the ordinary, for me at least. I never met the rave party, though, someone said you can.

Ive encountered the homeless people but not the rave party. Seems like an unfounded rumor to me. Shoot the homeless. Its funny, in theory. :P

Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. Then they'll be a mile away--and barefoot.

The rave party isn't a rumor. I can confirm its existance because I have run across it. It was between The Den and Redding if I'm not mistaken. It has only happened once in the times i played the game so it is a very rare encounter.
