I got the geck and returned it and talked to dead hakunanin or whatever lol,now does that mean the 13 year hard code is now over and i can just play the game at my own pace? also when does the years start? im trying to see how far along on the 13 years i am . thx

No no no, you've hardly spent 1 year of your time. The village kidnapping is part of the plot, don't worry. I've never hit the 13 year limit myself... you got plenty of time to explore.
