Navarro & GECK
I'm going to go into a *little* detail here. I hope I don't spoil anything for anyone browsing the forum and who is looking for help themselves. In that case, look away if you haven't finished the game.
The title isn't really informative. Anyways, I was exiting Vault 13, about to look for a voice modulator thing ( whatever ). Then Hakunin appeared for the third time, saying "Chosen One... the Village DIES.... blah blah blah..... please hurry". Seeing as there are probably experts in this forum, you've heard of this message before. Anyways, I was puzzled, do I still have time? He said it "dies", but then, "please hurry". Anyways, I'd come too far to just give up, so I went and got the voice thing, got my GECK, and sped my way back up to Arroyo.
Of course, when I there, I did not get the message I expected. Hakunin was on a board, bleeding to death, and told me of Navarro. I had already discerned something of the Enclave by this time, and Oil and rigs. There's my main mission, like defeating the Master in Fallout 1.
But here's my question. It was a bad message, and he said I didn't "get there in time." But could I have gotten there sooner and received a better welcoming? In the first Fallout, it was simple. If you got there in time, and there was a definite date, no one died of thirst. And THEN you could ( if you hadn't already ) start on the main quest. But here, I'm not sure if I delivered the GECK in time. Arroyo probably would have been sacked anyways to lead me into the Enclave..... but I just need to know, was I late with the GECK? Did I fail that mission? Even still, Hakunin said I could "save my people."
I just don't know.
Oh, and how much time do I have now? Do I only have like 500 days in the original before I get a bunch of bad endings?
Thanks for reading this incredibly long message.
