Outdoorsman skill

Is this skill useful or will I be wasting my tag on it?
I heard yu can recieve xp points when using it, is this true, and if so, is this ex woth the tag?

i never tagged it but you get about 65 exp everytime you use the outdoorsman skill to go into a random ecounter or not. The motion sensor if in your inventory will give you +20% to it too. Mine started around 30% and ive got it up to 65%(not including motion sensor). When you rescue smiley the trapper hell teach you how to skin geckos and your outdoorsman skill will go up a bit (5%??) and theres another guy in Klamath who talks about geckos and that might raise it but im not sure. Oh and i seem to find lots of scout books around and read them to boost outdoorsman. So for tagging it depends on you. Yes and be able to get the 65 exp AND the experience for killing people and getting their weapons (or for trading but thats no fun) AND also maybe youll save yourself from fighting a big group of people who hurt. Or dont get it and try to raise it by other means and spend those skill points on something that does matter....STEALING!!!!

That would be Slim Pickett. Yep, he will teach you if you ask him before killing the "Rat Keeng." I think the requirements are: at least level 2 exp, outdoorsman at less than 30%, 100 coins and pretty decent speech skills. If your speech skill is too low, he'll say something about your tribe being farmers. (My translation: "Go back to the Farm, boy, and leave the hunt'n' to the men.")
