Real Life Bozar
Once we talked about the LSW, now let's talk about our favourite weapon, the Bozar. In the real life, is there any weapon like that?
Well Bozar looks like a Barret .50 calibre sniper rifle but Barret is too big and too heavy and only set to semi automatic. At International Defence Review Magazine 1987th edition, Barret announced that they develop some kind of Lighter version of their .50 calibre Sniper rifle (designated Squad Support Weapon). Perhaps it looks like their Sniper rifle and have the selective fire ability.
The first full automatic sniper rifle was employed in Russia by German (it was an MG-34 fitted with Telescope). They were used by special scout sniper forces (you can read it at "The End Of the Third Reich" book written by Chuikov (Soviet Famous Marshall) which my Dad Bought from Syria). But the MG-34 used a belt feed system so that isn't Bozar.
But the most accurate machine gun was the Browning Automatic Rifle M1918 (A.K.A. BAR, they also got 20 rounds magazine just like Bozar). So if someone put scope on them and rechamber it to .223 cartridge then BANG! YOu got an old style Bozar. You can see this gun at old World War II movie such as Saving Private Ryan.
Nowaday there are some scoped machine gun available but the thing that works like bozar is the M-249 A.K.A. FN Minimi. They used the same cartridge (.223 calibre), can used a 20 round box magazine (altough the Minimi can also used the belt feed system) and some Minimi can used Scope. but the Minimi are smaller than Bozar. There are also this PKM Gun with a night sight. Is there anybody have any Information about Bozar?
