Freezing random

First time out of the vault
Fallout 3 is freezing totally at random for me. Everything runs fine but after some minutes for no apparent reason it freezes. I've tried a DVD version, steam version and even a cracked version just to see if it works but they all froze.
I've tried with and without add ons. I've tried unofficial patches. nothing works.

Any ideas on what i should do?

I'm running:
Windows 8 64 Bit
4 GB of memory
AMD Phenom II X4 3.4 GHz processor
AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series Graphics card
 
Hey man, I think the most common cause of random freezing is probably from using a quad core. Open up your Fallout config file:

Find:
bUseThreadedAI=0

Change it to:
bUseThreadedAI=1

Add this line after it:
iNumHWThreads=2

There's also a mod that will increase the amount of ram Fallout can use but it disables Games for Windows Live. This usually fixes memory issues related to having lots of extra mods/textures, etc:

It seems to work now. But I need to play the game for a longer period to be sure.
