Penumbra: Overture. What was said above about the crappy combat is very true. However, this game is succeeding in living up to the name, "survival horror." I am constantly worried about surviving! It's great to be scared to death of a dog/wolf thing and some big spiders instead of blasting through lots of enemies and only getting worried when the 2-story mutated octopus-dinosaur-alien shows up.

Also, I no longer have my copy of Farenheit (it walked away, dunno), but I really liked that game. I have agreed with practically every criticism of the game, and yet I still really enjoyed it. The thing is, it's a truly unique game. And it was actually innovative. Some of the new things it tried didn't work, but I enjoyed trying something new.

    Also playing:

The Nameless Mod- Man, it's great. I'm a big Deus Ex fan, and to see the imaginative and loving treatment of talented and dedicated modders (7 years!) is wonderful. On top of all that, it's fun!

Arcanum- I never really stop playing this game. I alternate between playing with Drog's patch and with Carcanum. Despite what people say, I like each for different reasons.

started playing mirrors edge and i must say that i am very impressed so far. the concept and the idea is very unique and original. for some odd reason it gives me the same good old feeling that some games back 1998 gave.

    definitly worth checking out.

EDIT: okay i must say that your characters interaction with the objects and the enviroment is sometimes really bad and sometimes it just doesn't respond.

My new quad-core processor, motherboard, and 4gb of memory arrived yesterday. So I'm playing Fallout 2.

I, uh... I can't really think of anything else I want to play.

Just finished Gun in a single sitting and loved it. Too bad the replayability is zero, I'm left wanting more.

Similar situation with me. Last summer when I got my new PC I was all set on playing the hell out of new games. Now only recent games installed on my machine are Dead Space and Flatout: Ultimate Carnage (cause it's the only recent racing game I found to be fun), and then there are Fallout 1/2, Planescape: Torment (funny cause I never played any of these on my old PC),Contra (the very first one I believe), Mafia, VTM:Bloodlines and Silent Hill 1/2/3.

After I reinstalled it couple of months ago I can't stop playing it. Now I'm on my third runthrough in a row, with Ventrue - something I haven't tried before. I'll probably even get to playing Nosferatu, even if I hate going through the sewers.

    Alone in the Dark 5...

aka prime example of innovashun gone wrong.

Because of an extremely high level of innovashun, what could have been an awesome game is now :

-an unplayable game ( too much micro gestion for everything, nothing is intuitive, sucks )

-a game that looks worse than Alone in the Dark 4 ( yeah, you've got Unreal Engine 3 and 1st person but low res textures...what's the point ? )

-a game with terrible dialogs ( Carnby to a demon : "I don't have your rock...AND FUCK YOU ANYWAY" )

-a game with a dvd menu so the casual player can skip passages that are too hard...or even go straight to the final scene ( like, wtf ? )

And it's too bad because I kinda like the atmosphere ( and the soundtrack is one of the best I've ever heard ) but especially because you can feel the ambition behind the project. However, innovashun took hold of the whole game and shred it to pieces.

    10/20 :?

I wish I could play V:tM-B again but i need a few months before I can enjoy it again. Prob as a Ventrue.

Now I'm playing L4D when time allows it.

Going to get the Fallout 3 add ons when the the bundle pack comes out over the summer.

Was playing GTA 3, but stopped after the missions started to become wars with military etc and the story sort of was put on hold ... (Getting 4+ stars is just boring)

Played GTA: Vice City, started getting income from clubs etc, but the stopped because my save games seem corrupted (cannot load them anymore, wtf?)

Playing GTA: San Andreas and am loving the story, the size and all the options so far ...

(Playing Jagged Alliance 2 or Hitman 2 from time to time as well ...)

Playing GTA IV, but getting nasty BSODs on Win 7 (servers me right I guess). I like it, except for the retarded friends.

Also always playing Empire: Total War. Starting to get better with patches, but still some weaknesses with AI.

Recently played through V:tM-B again, only my second playthrough and hadn't played it in years so it was a blast. Didn't really remember much. Funny what a killing machine I could turn my Toreador into. That build actually worked better than my first Gangrel, which is sort of weird fluff-wise? Presence, and in some cases celerity, kicks ass. Now it's probably time to try a Malkavian or Nosferatu, although I also loathe the sewers. Played a fair bit with Tremere but i found Thaumaturgy very hard to use well due to the extreme costs in blood. Better to slice stuff I think. In general i guess I find disciplines that don't work on supernaturals to be complete crap, since kine are pushovers anyway.
Love: This is truly a mad-mans weapon! Who else would attack fire with a blade?"
Hate: Those fucking two-legged roaring face-planting sons of bitches the Tzimisce keep as pets.

M'kay. Well. Second X-brick dead. I'm not terribly upset simply because I didn't pay for it. It was a gift after the first one died. Sucks it broke but bound to happen in seems. What a piece of crap.

Now...I'm probably going to sell all of these games and buy a PS3.

I'm kind of bummed tho'. None of my friends own a PS3.

EDIT: Now the more I think about it the more I realize I got shafted. All together through gifts and buying stuff on my own over the last few years Microsoft has taken thousands of dollars that I'm never going to see again. All those games, add-ons, X-box Live, arcade games......

Counted roughly the amount of what I've spent.

I'm going to go puke now.

EDIT2: It was an error 74, after replacing the AV cable I know for a fact I'd have to send it away for repairs. The saddest part, the year warranty was up in December. The one that was purchased with the machine. Only the RRoD is covered with an extended warranty. What a gyp.

EDIT3: I want to take it out to a field and destroy it Office Space style. If I do. I'll make a video for all to see.
