First time out of the vault
I'm looking for any information regarding Fallout/Fallout 2/Fallout New Vegas's development, specifically anything regarding its various settlements/level design so I can get a good idea of what mindset Fallout's original developers had when creating the world map, the closest thing to this I can think of is the tumblr blog Josh Sawyer has. Though what I'm looking for is interviews from the devs.
If anyone here happens to be experienced with creating mods, I would also like your help. Time management has never been my strong suit and given how much goes into making a decent mod, I'm not entirely sure where to begin. My plan, for now, was to first work on a world space - then add small hub towns - then make interiors for those towns - then finally put in NPC's/Quests on top of all that.
Due to complications with a certain project of my own, I desperately need some kind of guidance for how I can manage the ten or so people I have on my team. Most of whom either can't/work work on the geck (New Vegas' game engine). I'm feel a sense of dread go down my back whenever I thnk about managing both my own time working on this mod and figuring out how to direct the other people working on this project.
Do I have a level designer work on each town, or do I try and have everybody work on each hub world in a group effort? When translating IRL towns to Fallout, what are the most important parts to preserve? Anything and everything helps.
