Getting back into megaton after the bomb.

Wouldn't just saving the game and trying it be way easier and faster than asking about it here?

 

Yes, some people do survive, but you'll have to travel around to find them. They tend to run like hell after their town gets nuked.

 

I do not understand it. Since they didn't expect that the bomb sitting in the middle of town will suddenly go boom [at least they wasn't aware when exactly will this happen], what's the point of running as hell? How did they manage to outrun the blast? Shouldn't all of them just perish?

I tried the 'boom!' option and I met only Moira. I am not sure where she was while bomb went off. I assumed she was somewhere else during explosion but... where would be she since she used to spend all time in her shop and wasn't much of a traveller? So how she managed to survive if her shop ceased to exist? That's beyond me.

So there are other survivors?

 

why the radiation didnt killed them?

 

There were some people who weren't in the town at the time.

Well, Moira is a ghoul after you nuke Megaton, so I guess she must have been outside the city but still near enough to get a healthy (or not ) dose of radiation.
