Gotta love the quality of US television:

Roshambo

Antediluvian as Feck
First off, the latest Pokemon commercial.

The defining point of that commercial was when the dog was drinking out of the bowl and licking at his nuts. Thank you, Wizards of the Coast, for showing the rest of the world how inversely proportionate intelligence and greed play in the world of US capitalism, in such a sterling and apt depiction. And an apt depiction on the quantity/quality of the Pokeshit products.

At first, I thought it was a parody, but then I just realized that Wizards of the Coast was being truthful in saying tht they lick nuts.

Kind of like Disney's obsession with crotch jokes.

Now, onto why the US education system is failing in some parts.....

Now, most people in the US take what is on the television as fact. If so, then in history classes around the country many kids are going to say Hercules witnesses Jesus's birth at Bethlehem. Now, if I remember right, Greece was to the north-west of where Bethlehem was/is (forgot the exact location of Bethlehem, but I know it's in the middle-east area - I think around Jerusalem or in the general area).

Now, Hercules and Iaolus were traveling constantly north through jungle to Bethlehem, following a dream. That would put their point of origin somewhere in Saudi Arabia or Egypt, and last I knew, both of those countries didn't have that expansive of forests.

Now that the writer's have once again screwed with kid's heads on not only geography, but in history as well. It's not my field of study, but I believe it was the Roman Empire that was in control of the area, not the Greek, and Hercules was not alive at that time.

I know Sam Raimi goes into the cheesy bit of film production, but this is too hokey....

Didn't they also do an episode where Hercules meet with King Arthur? Christ.
It's why the only TV I watch are "The Simpsons" and "Futurama". And "The New Batman Superman Adventures". But I have to listen to "Jerry Springer" 'cause of my roomate...

"I'm Superman. I can do anything."
"Except, apparently, face your fear."

I just love cheesy stuff

I always watch Hercules and Xena. I know it's cheesy, but I like watching it. And it's still a lot better than that Robin Hood series.

RE: I just love cheesy stuff

Dear God! Have you no lives? Oh, I can answer that question myself. Anyway, I hate network TV! The only programs I can manage to watch are:

"The Simpsons"
"Star-Trek NG"
"Star-Trek Voyager"
"Peter Benchley's Amazon"
"The Relic Hunter"

And that's about it. Never really look at any of the other channels, God only knows what sick or boring things happen on them. Although I do watch E! entertainment sometimes, but only late at night ;-).

better then some euro. TV (but the US could use alot better prog.) and alot better then mexican soaps (shudder) p.s. pokemon was orig. Jap. so you have them to blame for that abomination (allthough we did make barrny, shudder shudder)

Pokemon was originally Japanese, and tha cartoon is much better than most US cartoons nowadays.

However, leave it up to Wizzers off the Coast to screw around with something once they get their greedy claws set into it.

RE: I just love cheesy stuff

>"Star-Trek Voyager"

About the only real focus of that show is to depict how ballsy a woman can be and that she isn't a push-over, and what is known as (originating with X-Files), Freak of the Week.

Hey, hey hey!

Don't be dissing European TV. BBC 1 & 2 are far better than all of the TV channels available in America (which aren't premium channels of course), plus there are no commercials.

Remember the first or second episode of Futurama? (Don't remember exactly the ep.number)

When they went to the moon, everything was fun, fun, fun, everywhere fun, they even modify the history of the first man who landed on moon because they wanted to make it fun.

Well, I see that the world tends to "fun-itize" everything. Because entertaining shit is more profitable that boring (or even entertaining) educative topics.

Direct TV!!

+650 channels plus rent your videos using your remote control and lots of funny shit!!

Yeah!! More crap-lobotomy for my head, I love it!! It's best than flying with Jet!!!

*also sings*

I sit around and watch the tube but nothin's on it
I change the channels for and hour or two
Fiddle my thumbs just for a bit
I'm sick of all this same old shit
In a house with unlocked doors and I'm fucking crazy...

Hey, somebody who actually watches Futurama. I thought I was about the only one in this universe. I really like the sarcasm in that show.
Remember the episode in witch they went to a reconstruction of 20th century new york ?

(Leela)*points to a phone booth* Hey what's that ?
(Fry) That's a public toilet.

(later in the show)
*Leela and Fry enter the subway*
(Leela) Is this also a public toilet ?
(Fry) No, this is a moving home

Man, I love that serie.

RE: *also sings*

Well, I have 5 channels when I go back to England, but in CA, there are only 3 worth while none premium channels, and most of the time they don't have anything good on. That's out of 64 channels, how sad.

As some people know

I love the " The Simpsons. " Honestly, I'm actually obbessed. In fact, I'm watching the Simpsons right now. It's the Cat Burglar episode.

Love Futurama too.

I think that American TV can be good. I will admit that 90% of USATV is crap, but the remaining 10% is pretty good, at least I think.

Az four thee educaton sstem, I thinks that I'm am a prety will education peron. :-)

As for Poke`mon, I hate that shit. I mostly blame Japan for it. I wouldn't blame America for it.

All my other views of everything in the world are worthless.

RE: As some people know

You're right about how good all the Groening shows are(Simpsons and Futurama) and there are a lot of good US shows, but my all time favorite TV show for scifi and humor has to be the British show "Red Dwarf".

RE: As some people know

That one's hella funny. Although it does appear to be boring in some episodes. And they get a measly budget and still manage to produce the series.

i think we can agree

There are a few diamonds in the ruff no matter where you go but the diamonds are few and far between (allthough i do get a kick out of US TV translations for over seas viewing ther so wrong!) AH yes such is the wonders of capitalisum (or "art", i think there both crap mostly, humans are just that dumb to like it)

RE: i think we can agree

I love Dutch televion. Most networks just oversynchronize foreign languages (you know, when some guy speaks the texts of an actor who doesn't speak the native language). In holland they have subtitles, becouse it's cheaper.....

I hate it when three or so people do all the lines of an entire cast.
