Both. Even the old school MSX games have some good old school video game tunes in them.
why i could almost forgot this
all right the games itself might suck but doesnt mean the soundtrack itself is bad
Yeah, Inon Zur has done a pretty good job, the music has become better since Fo3 (and NV!). Too bad that he has no word in where to use the soundtrack, otherwhise ambience music looping all the time, bad combat music placement and so forth, would be very likely avoided.
I mean He's really damn Nailed it. watching the concept art in E3 with this music on, it shed tears man. the adam who-i dont know his-polish name works lives when this music airing in e3 speaker
Let's fill the thread with some *16 bit* goodness, shall we?
Completely misses the Fallout vibe though?
Oh yeah most certainly out of place imo. But you can't deny that quality.
I wasn't that impressed by most of the Inon Zur stuff in Fallout: New Vegas, but damn do I love this track:
Interstate '76, motherfuckers.
My childhood in a nutshell.
Biker Mice From Mars (SNES):
Throwing some love out for Tim Schafer games.
I would say:
Oblivion menu soundtrack
Fallout 3 soundtrack
Fallout New Vegas soundtrack
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 1,2 and 3 had some excellent soundtracks
Dawn of War 1
World of Warcraft
Aside from modding community I'd say the very best soundtracks ended in the late 2004 with HL2 and VTMB as last games. Now you only can find *good* stuff sitting near meh stuff.
Negative Mental Attitude aside, fighting with limitations sometimes gives interesting result.
