*apparently this was supposed to be GTA 3[/spoiler:6e696c7088]

That's right guise, Mario Fuckin Kart is the most influential game off all time

Also, there is CoD4 but no other call of duty

AND HALO IS APPARENTLY MORE INFLUENTIAL THAN DOOM(which doesn't eve figure on the list)

Oblivion but not morrowind...

Guinness got to be fucking kidding

But dude, Halo totally rocks! It like, invented FPS! I play it all the time with my frat brahs at our weekly keggers. Master Chief makes Halo GOTY all years. :ugly:

Lists like these are almost entirely bullshit anyways. I do understand the Oblivion-and-not-Morrowind thing, since Oblivion is more successful and widely known in the mainstream than Morrowind, therefore making it more "influential." Not better, just more "influential." Its popularity made Gothic 3's developers try to parrot it and completely fail, for instance.

Heh, as someone at Kotaku pointed out Orange Box isn't even a game.
Man Guiness has gone downhill.

I think they ignoring a large portion of game history, not to mention the large number of games that appeared on home computers that also pushed the medium forward.

But then again they are focusing on consoles only.

IGN currently has a "Top 25 consoles of all time" list going, and it's equally full of bullshit.

These lists, more often than not, are meaningless.

I can see Super Mario Kart being #1. Rubber band ai was the beginning of blurring the lines between a terrible player and an amazing player. It's taken many different forms over the years, but that sort of thing is still very present in many modern games.

Super Mario World is more influential than Super Mario Bros.

Oh and Sonic 2 is also more influential than Super Mario Bros.

Call of Duty 4 is also very influential.

But yeah, the influentialest is Super Mario Kart.

That is true, but don't forget that it mostly expands or bases upon content from CoD 2 (same engine and thus, nearly identical gameplay), so I'd rather put CoD 2 on that list, if not CoD 1 - witch conjucture with the sequel, about 80% of shooters emulate them.

Yes, but is that more influential than Doom that made FPS popular, paved the way for violence and profanity in games and incited community mapbuilding & mods?

I was being sarcastic actually...
I wouldn't place COD 4 in that list for the reasons you talked about in your post

Super Mario Cart the most influental game of all times?
