Harry as NPC mod 1.0 released (F2)

Harry as NPC mod 1.0 by Skynet.

!!!Requires Fallout 2 Restoration Pack 1.2!!!


This mod will add Harry to (Supermutant from Fallout 1) outside of Arroy temple as recruitable npc.

Features:

-All responses are voiced (uses partly modified speech files from Fallout 1). Example: three random responses when you order him to wait. Differend initial dialog for male and female charecters. etc.
-Adjustable and predefined combat settings.
-Major skill is Big Guns.


Issues:

-Uses "Doc" AI settings, which is from unimplented npc. Not really an issue.
-No combat taunts...yet.
-When asking NPC healing from various doctors in game. Harry will be referred as "Doc". Same thing when you ask for sex in Cat's Pawn. I could fix this, but there are quite many dialog files to check, so I'll leave it for now.
-No levelup...yet.

You're right. Better place for him would be maybe Gecko or Broken Hills. I guess I change his location in next possible version. BTW, I gave him just a spiked knuckles for a weapon, so he is not too overpowered from the start.

Do you have any other mods hidden up your sleeves? why not create the missing Doc NPC? he was mentioned by you in the resto thread, when it was still in its infancy.

Originally it was planned, so that you actually had to escort Karl back to modoc. So his NPC role was just temporary.

Also, Doctor in Vault 15 was supposed to be a joinable NPC.

I actually was going to restore the Doc NPC before I had a idea of Harry NPC. Restoring Doc NPC is going to pretty easy actually, so I may do it after I'm finished with Harry NPC.
 
Yeah - I second this notion - I too want this download. A standalone Jones mod would be greatly appreciated too... :)
(would these mods have any affect on current savegames, btw?)
 
Well that's quite a gravedigg. Sadly the mod also isn't in the Database, so unless @Skynet has it still flying around somewhere, it's probably gone.
 
I checked if I had it, but must have missed it too... Dude101 not here anymore either? I recall he had quite the collection dowloaded too

I actually was going to restore the Doc NPC before I had a idea of Harry NPC. Restoring Doc NPC is going to pretty easy actually, so I may do it after I'm finished with Harry NPC.
Could there possibly be a simple tutorial for making the Chicken and Doc be joinable NPCs? (and would it also affect any current savegame files?)

I don't know of any simple tutorials to add a party NPC. But, it isn't too complicated, and may prove to be an excellent way to get your feet wet with regards to modding Fallout 2.
And, this mod is pretty old. If you just add it to your RP installation, it will overwrite some critical files to keep your game running properly.

Btw were you going to add it to the megamod?

No. Not as is. I'm kind of hard pressed to think of a way in which I could add it now. Maybe someday, as I do have an idea where having another super-mutant in your party may be temporarily required to gain entry to one of the MM locations.
