First time out of the vault
I tried to disable it through the Hi-Res config menu in the fixt files but I kept receiving an error message whenever I tried to run the fixt version of the game that reads "You're trying to use sfall with an incompatible version of fallout. Was expecting 'Fallout 1 v1.2 US' falloutw.exe had an unexpected crc. Expected 0xe5743f3e but got 0xf68202d9". I have an older system that isn't able to run anything Hi-Res, I want to be able to enjoy the Fixt mod and everything else that comes with it but the Hi-Res mod has slowed my game down to an unplayable crawl. Could someone please help me out with this?
UPDATE: I don't quite understand why but switching to windowed mode seemed to return the game to the smooth frame rate I'm accustomed to and switching back to fullscreen mode afterwards seems to have largely resolved the issue??? I'm not sure why.
