Hello again folks,
boy howdy I do seem to have a lot of problems with Fallout games lately..
I've been enjoying New Vegas for a good month or so now, having a blast, even got some neat mods. Everything was running great, save for a random crash on the loading screen maybe twice a day every so often. But that's typical of Fallout.
Anywho, today I tried to be a bit more daring. I attempted to install one of those redesigned-retexturing mods for NV, where they fancy up the models and make everything look much more updated and neat. I had followed all the steps and everything was going according to planned. When it didn't work, it didn't bother me so much and I just simply uninstalled/deleted them (I use the Nexus Mod Manager) and tried the game again. It opened just fine this time, of course, but one of my other mods out of nowhere started having an error. I had the logbook mod I believe, and it was just giving me this annoying error message over and over in game that popped up even after clicking "okay." So I closed the game and uninstalled that one too-- but this time, when I tried to open the game again, it crashed on start again like it did before when I tried the redesigning mods.
I've tried everything I could think of. I uninstalled all my mods, but every time it just crashes on start up-- right after you click play and it gives you that screen before the "Obsidian" one, and it just crashes with no explanation to desktop.
I system restored my computer back to maybe three days ago, in hopes of fixing it , but remembered that system restores don't touch files. Whoops. So that did nothing.
I uninstalled New Vegas completely (even making a copy of my saves just to be sure) and tried running it without Nexus nor any of my mods, and it is STILL crashing on start up.
I'm pretty upset if I'm honest, I had two great games going on and was really excited to play today, but now I fear I've completely wrecked the game and I don't even know how.
Please, all help is appreciated. I'm desperate if you couldn't tell.
I'm on Windows 10, NVIDIA GeForce 3.14.1.48, iBuyPower computer, 64 bit
I have two DLCs, Old World Blues and Honest Hearts
Mods I had originally include the monster costume mod, a vault boy mask/jumpsuit costume, a yes man companion mod, simple victor companion mod, sprint mod
Mods I attempted to get that I am assuming resulted in wrecking my game was NV redesigned 3, character overhaul, nvse, uio, ghoul race mod (which needed some other DLC so it didnt work anyway)
Please help.
