I've been replaying Fallout 1 with the fixt patch and Dogmeat keeps running away during combat

    He was fine at first, but now he keeps running away during random encounters even when he's at full HP. Is this normal in the game or a bug?

    it's *not* related to FIXT mod.
    if You have awareness perk You should be able to see by using binoculars on dogmeat if he has crippled limbs.
    the only way to heal him in this case is unfortuneatly *your* doctor skill only (doctor bags may help here).

    this is the same as in Fallout 2 if party member has crippled limb ( broken arm or leg) he/she will run away in battle. Healing over time won't fix this and the only way is to heal the broken limb by using doctor skill (or in fo2 case visiting a doctor npc). When succesfully using doctor on a npc with broken limb and at full health You will get exp. points and a notification You've healed her/him/it for 0 hit points. After that npc should act prpoerly in combat.

    I thought that evrybody playing that mod use party control function of sfall so that you decide what they do in combat.
