    not a bad choice.

me, i'm having a hard time deciding between a Kimber Custom II (the 1911 carried by LAPD SWAT, although i don't actually care about that) and an FN P9 aka Browning Pro 9 (good oldfashioned belgian quality).

anyhow, got enough time to decide... the belgian arms regulations are a mess right now, cant get anything done. they transfered permits, licenses & stuff from local police to the gouvernors office (province), but no one overthere actually knows how to handle it.

If I ever wanted to kill someone using a gun I'd do it with this.

meh, too much plastic (well, polymers are fine ofc, but the look just sucks ass). too ugly. (yeh, i dont like Glock's either)

the eye wants some candy too!

for me there is little that can beat the kickass look and efficiency of a 1911 or the practicality of an FN P9.

    welcome to yesteryear.

the OICW project has been scrapped & the kinetic rifle has been modded into the XM8.

    besides the FN2000 > OICW. ( gotta love nationalism :p )

I think the military's dropped the XM8, too. Something about it melting after firing a few thousand rounds. It's still a pretty impressive gun, though, for the people that don't shoot thousands of rounds in under a minute.

if the barrel overheats, use a thicker barrel & more ventilation. if the plastic melts, use other composites?

would seem a strange to simply drop it after the huge costs the project has already generated, Bradylama. still, i fail to see why americans keep insisting on NOT using a bullpup design (they even forced it on the FN SCAR)

    Makenshi:
the FN F2000 is a modable bullpup 5.56mm AR. it can have (depending on the version) digital firecontrols telling you where to aim for both normal bullets and the 40mm HE grenade. all configurations are 100% ambidextrous and the empty shells are dropped along the end off the barrel not to any left handed soldiers.
