Map building crash...

Abs

First time out of the vault
I've been building a bigger map for testing purposes, approximately 8x8 grids (the blue square regions), and it started out fine enough but over time as I built onto the map I have been encountering crashes. Not to mention the crash seems to glitch out the game for a while after the crash (reopening the game after the crash is met with the game chugging at about 1 frame per 3 seconds).

I am wondering what specifically causes this kind of issue? Is it the number of tiles on a map, or the number of different tiles? Is it a CPU/GPU limitation based crash? I have also made a few new folders containing huge amounts of tiles that I use in helping build maps faster, would that be a factor at all either?

It's not clear what the exact problem is because I copy pasted a bunch of buildings into the map and only started getting the crash while I was customizing the buildings to look broken up, not when I was copy pasting them onto the map.

I just thought I'd ask others what they know about this kind of issue before I try cutting the map in half.

Can you upload the map? i could try to reproduce your issues looking for stuff that may cause your problem.

Wait, will it work if I used tiles from my own newly made folders? They aren't new tiles, they're just copies of old tiles in new folders for ease of use... Well let me know either way.
Also you will apparently need to use FT Improver to load the map as well, I'm not sure what causes the issue where maps won't load in the normal fttools.exe, but this map seems to have that issue.

yeah to check out i need the folders inluding their tiles and entities if youve set some already :)
but from my years of fiddling around with fttools slowdowns to the framerate until it gets unplayable occured only when some triggers were accidently set to preserve.

Well at the moment it's just the basic outline of a map, no triggers or entities at all as of yet. And it's not even half complete either. It's just gotten to the point where after a short while of editing the map further it will crash (for me at least).

Here's the necessary tiles folder (compressed) if you're still interested.

If you can test that out for me it'd be awesome but I can understand if not.

Also yes that folder will actually load in the map editor but it can take a few minutes.
