NCR Salary or Pay?

I'm going to a Fallout-themed LARP soon and would like to play as an NCR member. The game currency is Caps but I'd like to make some NCR money and try to get it accepted by traders as part of my storyline. Anyone have a guess or information about how much an NCR trooper might get paid? If you know of any other salaries or wages mentioned in-game I could probably extrapolate from there.

I did find on Reddit that the caps to NCR conversion is 2:5, based on casino chip trade-in. 5$= 2 caps, 20$ = 8 caps, 100$ = 40 caps

I'm planning to try negotiating with shops to get a better exchange rate if possible

I don't think any hard numbers were ever established.

However, maybe this reddit thread's math might be a jumping off point?

Chomp Lewis have a line about the NCR payment, i guess.

And if you fix the generator in sloan, he gives you 200 ncr dollars, from his own pocket. Since he is the head of the miners, let's say his salary is 4.000 ncr dollars? Sounds right?

Taking into account the base price of food in NV is quite low, the NCR probably also pays it's soldiers a smaller amount of money than you'd think, if the abundance of soldiers with only $10 pocket change means anything
