you guys once left europe I am sure it will welcome you again if the new world proves to be lost
This. A thousand times. Never met such a deliberately ignorant bunch of sky-wizard loving freaks until I moved to Georgia. Now I'm in Oklahoma...not worse, not better, the kool-aid is just a different flavor.
Seconded. If McCain had won we'd already be running low on nukes. Presidents are only good for starting wars and kissing babies. McCain couldn't even pick a baby up high enough to kiss one, so he would have been a one trick pony, and ugly with it.
For those wanting to come to Canada, I daresay our dear conservative government wants to turn us into US lite, down to the ''fuck you States/provinces'' attitude and all the overcompensating macho military cockslap posturing (paying 35 billions for attack jets not even the US Air Force wants, and then making all those speeches about having to cut government spendings? To hell with these clowns). So you're kinda out of luck there.
As for the next US president, I guess Obama didn't do worse than the preceding one, which is a plus I guess. It's not like the president can change much in this age of crooked senators and ultra-powerful corporate lobbies. I lost any kind of faith in the current system when the CEOs of banks and car campanies used bailout money to grant themselves huge bonuses.
I'd hate to sound like my uncle Yusef and descend into conspiracy theories, but that is what everyone is doing to protect their resources.
In about 10 years I guarantee most wars will simply be about survival instead of ideological conflict. I'd also hate to mention it again but if you guys want a good roadmap of the future read "soft Apocalypse" by Will McIntosh.
believe it or not but this already started with the 1990s once the Sovietunion colapsed. The cold war was more or less over and the question the serious question was if the NATO now lost its purpose with their main enemy gone. And the answer as we all know was "no" because the NATO is still around. The fighting over resources started already much sooner then with 2000. And with China and many more powers showing up on the screen (Russia, India, Brazil, A few African states etc.) things will change in the future. For the better or the worse ? That remains to be seen.
probably for the better. We are humanity. If a supervolcano eruption can't kill us then climate change definitely won't.
The question is if our modern civilization will last the rocky times ahead.
Climate change won't do shit to humans. Will totes fuck up all our major food supplies though. Starvation puts a bit of a damper on the human spirit and the number of resources worth fighting wars over will skyrocket
Resource conflict is the baseline for life anyway It's going to get ugly(uglier) once drinkable water is as scarce in developed nations as it already is everywhere else.
The ramifications of the NDAA won’t be known until the economy collapses and political dissent in America reaches it's peak. Here is a snippet of a article about the recent Hacktivism due to SOPA.....
NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- In one of the U.S. government's largest anti-piracy crackdowns ever, federal agents on Thursday arrested the leaders of and shut down Megaupload.com, a popular hub for illegal media downloads.
Hours later, Megaupload's fans turned the table on the feds. "Hacktivist" collective Anonymous said it set its sights on the U.S. Department of Justice and apparently knocked the agency's website offline.
"We are having website problems, but we're not sure what it's from," a DOJ spokeswoman told CNNMoney.
The DOJ website glitches came soon after various Twitter accounts associated with Anonymous took aim at the agency.
Anonymous's favorite weapon for these attacks is what's called a "distributed denial of service" (DDoS) attack, which directs a flood of traffic to a website and temporarily crashes it by overwhelming its servers. It doesn't actually involve any hacking or security breaches.
Don't say anything bad about the government or you may be considered a terrorist!
Who signed it? The guy who got the Nobel peace prize? Next time he puts the cherry on top and signs the Restore Slavery Bill.
Nah. That is what the FEMA camps are for!
Resource conflicts? Where are we living? In the Fallout universe?
Seems the lot of you, has grasped the general situation in the world. I fore one welcome our new central bank overlords. all jokes aside, if you study history then study economic history and correlate the events on hot spots or general degeneration of living standard you may see what going on before it becomes oblivious.
In the case of good old USA the final straw, happened in 1992, the year they repeled the glas steageal act. Which has protected the banking industry from it self.
The latest crop of repbucat or democritan leaders are distraction to hide whats going on behind the scenes.
the problem is the world currency is Dollar, and when it goes the usa, euro and maybe China as well (idk). Rest off the world is isolated, ironically by USA own devises and stand to prosper.
