New critter uploaded (Vol.II)

Sirren67

Look, Ma! Two Heads!
Ladies and gentleman we did it again.
I just uploaded my second critter. This one has four animation sets: unarmed, big guns, minigun, hammer. This project was a cohoperation between Wild_Qwerty and me (if you browse the forums you already know this...).
Screens tomorrow, as usual.
(For Silencer: you know, I'm getting old here, hair graying, this kind of stuff... In short: I'm kinda in troubles when dealing with computers... Honest... More specifically: where did I put my file? Is there a way to put it in the *right*place?)
See you, folks.

As far as I can see, you haven't uploaded any files. The last uploaded file was the Fallout 1 NPC mod.

Whats the maximum file upload size? It's only 2Mb from memory isnt it? I used to just email the files to Odin.

Dammit, I'm at it again...
This second file is just smaller than 2 megs, approximately the size of the first bot. I think there should no *technical* problem in uploading it.
What's the correct path to upload files? I did it to upload Andy and cannot remember how I did it.
Kharn, thanks for the info, at least I know what was of the file...

Thanks for the links, Jarno Mikkola. I tried again and got the "file succesfully uploaded" screen. What seems strange to me is the Choose a category/upload kind submenus show no choice apart from upload. I hope this try is the good one.
See you.

Hi Lexx. You're right. Here you go:

That's because normal users only have permission to upload to the category "upload". An admin can then move it to the proper category.

That said, I again don't see it. Mail it to me and I'll upload it manually.

EXCELLENT!

At first I thought it looked strange, but with some thought it makes sense. I expected the outside body to have many buttons and holes, but realising it needs to be covered to prevent damage to such sensitive parts it would more realisticly have a dull, shell exterior as you've made. I like the slinky arms. They seem to stand out a bit too much in contrast, but the idea is nice. I've seen 50's sci-fi robots and the slinky arms are just like that.

Ouuu... This cyberbastard is crazy... crazy and mad... I like mad creatures! :D

Btw, what is this tree with orange leafs at the bottom of the screen? Upcoming autumn? Or specifically mutated maple leaf tree? :)

Hi there folks.
I got in touch with Kharn, so you should see the thing soon.
Now, let's see...
The bot was made as a kind of bet with myself:
A)make a massive amount of coder art in a short time.
B)Start a project and actually release it (!).
The model was made in some 4 hours (worked by night), including the test in game to see how colours where going to be converted. I too don't like part of of the bot: arms actually are too much in contrast with the rest, and I couldn't find a good shape for the head...
(Can't say you're wrong, Demonslayer...)
Keep in mind I actually modeled a grand total of 4 robots in my life, and two made it in the game (I have stand idle animation for a bot which didn't make it).
The orange tree: my mod is set six months before the Big one, so I needed more *living* trees. I downloaded a bunch of trees made with Bryce by Mark, the administrator of
Isogames.de. Apart from Mark's good iso stuff you'll find a bunch of my 3d vehicles there.
O.k, that's all for now.
See you soon.

Sirren67 i'm not saying "that sucks!" because i wouldn't do a better job. It's just it doesnt seem a usable critter :P

3D vehicles?
w00t, i was thinking on trying to do something with honda crx (my favorite car) but i realised that it would take much work ^^

Don't worry, I didn't think about "it sucks" :D
By why not usable?
I mean, the bot can use a hammer. Think of the tactical possibilities...
You can place a couple of them in a room and have them play tennis using the player as the ball!

I think he's done a great job, the first critter looked cooler, but only had a wheel and one weapon. This robot has a lot more animations and is impressive.

Both of the critters look the part of the 50's retro sci-fi, though I like the free wheeling Andy more.

Though I'm not sure where a new bot would be used in FO2, they could all be used in FIFE at some stage, so its well worth making them.

In the right location I think it would fit in, its like any of the pre-war robots - They all have a limited usefulness in FO, they can only really be used in high tech areas and there arent many of those around in the wasteland ;)
